The people we want to reach are those currently in legislative leadership positions as well as those who aspire to be in those positions. We live in a time in which the mistakes of those in public service leadership are increasingly visible and the focus of constant media attention. As a result, confidence in leadership has declined over the past decades in almost every realm of life.
The understanding that everything rises or falls on the wings of leadership and more importantly that lawmakers dictate the pace of progress in every nation, gave birth to the Legislative Leadership Education (LLE) Incorporated. With its primary focus on Canada and Africa, LLE is a registered organization under the Government of Canada which aims to enable Legislators and Emerging Legislators to develop leadership and legislative skills needed to become more effective leaders, informed decision-makers, and astute policy analysts.
It is inarguable that global public-leadership competency is essential in today’s knowledge economy. Moreover, the structure of legislative leadership in today’s world must adjust to the times, especially in emerging economies. To spur continuous growth and development, legislators at diverse levels of influence in the public sector have to develop vital global leadership competencies and a wide array of legislative skills that are crucial for navigating today’s evolving economic, technology and political climate.
